Version 1.0 / November 2026
Privacy statement
This is a translation. In case of any difference, the Dutch text prevails.
In short: your hours, clients, amounts, receipts and signatures are stored on your own devices and in your own iCloud. We have no access to them. Only when you send feedback or a message yourself do we receive what you include in it.
1. Who is responsible
Declaruur is an app by Pim Uijttewaal from Nieuwveen, the Netherlands. For questions about privacy, please use the contact form.
2. Data in the app
Everything you enter in Declaruur, such as your business details, clients, hours, expenses, mileage, scanned receipts and signatures, is stored on your own device. If you turn on syncing, this data is kept in your own private iCloud storage via Apple iCloud, so that your Mac, iPhone and iPad show the same data.
- We have no server of our own for your data and cannot access it.
- Apple’s privacy policy applies to iCloud.
- Text recognition on receipts takes place entirely on your device; nothing is sent to a server.
- If you fetch your logo from your own website, the app downloads the images directly from that address, not via another server.
- Declaruur contains no advertising, no tracking and no third-party analytics.
3. Feedback from the app
If you use the Feedback & suggesties (Feedback & suggestions) button, we send the following over a secure connection (HTTPS) to our server, which forwards it as an email:
- the type of message (idea, problem or question), the subject and your text;
- your email address, if you enter it to receive a reply;
- the app version, the build number and the platform (macOS, iOS or iPadOS);
- only if you tick this: the app’s technical log file (without client names, amounts, hours, addresses, receipts or signatures);
- only if you tick this: system information (device model, system version, language and region, free storage, iCloud on or off).
With Bekijk wat er wordt verstuurd (See what will be sent) you can see in advance exactly what is included. We only use this data to answer your question and improve the app, and keep it no longer than necessary, for a maximum of 2 years.
4. Purchases
The trial and the purchase are handled entirely through Apple’s App Store. We do not receive your name, address or payment details. Apple only sends us anonymous purchase data (such as a transaction number and the date), which we use for our accounts.
5. This website
- This website does not use cookies for tracking or advertising, and no third-party analytics.
- Only the contact form sets a temporary, functional cookie to prevent abuse. It disappears when you close your browser.
- If you choose a different language, the website remembers that choice in a temporary, functional cookie. This one also disappears when you close your browser.
- If you send a message using the contact form, we receive your name, email address, your message and any attachments by email. We only use this to reply to you.
- If you sign up via Keep me posted, we only store your email address, the language of the website and the date you signed up. We use this solely to email you when Declaruur is in the App Store and, if you sign up via a page in another language than Dutch, when the app becomes available in your language; after that we delete the list. We do not store your IP address. Want to be removed from the list sooner? Let us know via the contact form.
- If you answer via the Interested in Android? button, we store your answer (yes or no), the date and an irreversibly encrypted code of your IP address, and set a functional cookie. This way each visitor is only counted once. We do not store your IP address itself.
- As with any website, the web server keeps technical log files (such as IP address and time) for security and troubleshooting. These are deleted automatically after a short time.
6. Sharing with others
We never sell your data and do not share it with others, unless required to do so by law. Our website and email run at a hosting company in Germany (Strato), within the European Union.
7. Your rights
You have the right to view, correct or have deleted the data we hold about you (for example from a feedback report or message). To do so, please use the contact form. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
8. Changes
If this privacy statement changes, the new version will be published on this page and in the app (Instellingen › Over Declaruur, i.e. Settings › About Declaruur). In the event of an important change, the app will show this once.
