Frequently asked questions

Here you’ll find answers to the most frequently asked questions. Can’t find yours? Send a message using the contact form below or via Feedback & suggestions in the app.

Trial and purchase

How does the free trial work?

You can use Declaruur free of charge and without limitations for 15 days. The trial starts when you activate it in the app and applies to all your devices with the same Apple Account. Reinstalling does not reset the trial.

How much does Declaruur cost?

After the trial you pay €19.95 once. It’s not a subscription: you never pay again, and updates and support are included.

Do I have to pay for each device separately?

No. One purchase on your Mac, iPhone or iPad covers all three, as long as you use the same Apple Account. Family Sharing is not available: the purchase only applies to the account that pays.

What happens if I don’t buy after 15 days?

Then Declaruur switches to read-only mode. You can still view, export (CSV and PDF) and print all your data and email timesheets, but you can’t add or change anything. You never lose anything: after a purchase, everything works as before.

I have a new device. How do I get my purchase back?

Sign in with the same Apple Account and choose Instellingen › Aankoop › Aankoop herstellen (Settings › Purchase › Restore purchase) in Declaruur. Usually the app recognises your purchase automatically.

Data, syncing and export

How do my hours sync between iPhone, iPad and Mac?

Through your own iCloud. Turn on iCloud in Instellingen › Synchronisatie en back-up (Settings › Sync and backup) and make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple Account on all your devices. With an internet connection, changes appear on your other devices within seconds.

Where is my data stored? Can you access it?

Your data is stored on your own devices and, if you turn on syncing, in your own iCloud. We have no server of our own for your data and can’t access it. Read more in the privacy statement.

How do I make a backup or export?

In Instellingen › Synchronisatie en back-up (Settings › Sync and backup) you can export everything to a file, and per period or client as CSV or PDF. Do this regularly: under Dutch tax rules you must keep your records for 7 years. Declaruur itself never deletes old data.

Does Declaruur also create invoices?

No, deliberately not. Declaruur creates timesheets (with hours, expenses, mileage and VAT) that you use alongside your own invoicing or bookkeeping.

Using the app

Is Declaruur available in my language?

This website is translated, but the app itself is in Dutch for now. English is also being considered. Leave your email address and we’ll keep you posted.

What are the system requirements?

macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later, and iOS or iPadOS 17 or later.

I don’t get any reminders. What now?

Check in Declaruur under Instellingen › Meldingen (Settings › Notifications) that the reminder is on, and in your device’s system settings that notifications for Declaruur are allowed. Reminders are scheduled on the device itself; you can turn them on or off separately on each device.

How reliable are the hours criterion and the self-employment warnings?

They are an aid and indicative. Declaruur does not give tax or legal advice. Rules change; if in doubt, consult your accountant or tax adviser.

Is Declaruur also available for Android?

Not yet. Declaruur is made especially for iPhone, iPad and Mac, and that’s where our expertise lies. Precisely because we focus entirely on Apple, we can offer you more:

  • Synced automatically through your own iCloud. Hours you enter on site on your iPhone appear on your iPad and Mac within seconds. You don’t need an account, and your data never ends up on a server of ours.
  • One purchase for all your devices. You pay €19.95 once and use Declaruur on your iPhone, iPad and Mac.
  • Made the way an Apple app should be. A calm, clear design with everything you’re used to from Apple: the timer in your Mac’s menu bar, scanning receipts with the camera, sign-off on your iPad and wireless printing with AirPrint.

Would you be interested in a (paid) Android version? Let us know with the button below. If there’s enough interest, we’ll consider a version for Android.
